About the event

On the occasion of the exhibition Process Over Objects, a panel discussion brings together artist Antonin Detemple and physicist Pierre Uzan, a specialist in thermodynamics, moderated by Elsa De Smet, Doctor of History of Art working at Centre Pompidou-Metz.

Conceived as a space for dialogue between science and creation, this encounter proposes to approach entropy not merely as a physical principle, but as a sensory, everyday, and deeply human experience. The discussion will open with a scientific introduction anchored in lived reality: how does entropy manifest itself within the systems we inhabit, in the passage of time, in wear, in instability, and in the continuous transformation of forms?

From this framework, the artist will explore how these modes of becoming can be conceptualized and mobilized as materials for artistic creation, revealing the poetic and critical potential of that which evades stabilization.
